The tale of doomed Acushnet

It sailed through space, at the captain's call,
with Danger in its wake,
The crew's harvest taken by a band of thieves,
Their confidence did shake.

A shadowy creature of fisherman's lore
Would have them change their course.
But the captain had a plan to himself
And things took a turn for the worse.

The crew divided, their colors turned,
Not one a familiar face…
The darkness overcame them
As they drifted, nearing White Space.

There are rumors as to the Acushnet's fate;
its captain and its crew.
No one knows for certain,
But its certain this is true…

If someone were to tell you,
You'll wish you never knew.
